Packers Take DE Nick Perry USC in 2012 NFL Draft First Round

The Green Bay Packers with the 28th pick selected Defensive End Nick Perry out of USC in the 2012 NFL Draft first round. Perry will be expected to compliment Clay Matthews, and strengthen the pass rush, which was a weak spot last season. The speculation was the Packers Ted Thompson would try to trade up. The signing of Jeff Saturday at center is at best a one year band aid. Packers needs are at C, DE, OLB, and Safety after releasing Nick Collins this week. Thompson is known to take the best player available; I expect him to stick to his previous draft strategy, because the Packers have urgent holes to fill at key positions. Stay tuned at ESPN for further round coverage.
